Prevent
The Prevent Duty is the duty in the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 which has an aim of preventing people from being drawn into terrorism.
Our Trust aims to protect children from the risk of radicalisation. We aim to build pupils' resilience to radicalisation and extremism by promoting and celebrating the diversity of British society and values and discussing how to be a good and caring citizen of the world. It is important to emphasise that the Prevent Duty is not intended to sop pupils debating controversial issues. On the contrary, our Trust can provide a safe space in which children, young people and staff can understand the risks associated with terrorism and develop the knowledge and skills to be able to challenge extremist arguments. This will assist children's personal, social and emotional development and understanding of the world. We aim to protect children from extremist and violent views.
Educate Against Hate provides practical advice on how you protect your child from extremism and build their resilience against radicalisation. We all want to support children on their journey to making positive contribution to their communities as active citizens.
